Go Back

Baby Ruth
Baby Ruth and her 7 other litter mates were born in our home.  Their mother, "Autumn" was rescued from Animal Control.  She was pregnant and her puppies were due anyday.  At Animal Control, pregnant dogs are either rescued or put down.  We couldn't bear to see such a wonderful and sweet dog put down so we rescued her.  Four days later she gave birth to eight beautiful, healthy puppies (The Candy Bar Litter).
Now Jasmine has a fantastic family who loves her very much.  Please come back often to see her wonderful updates and pictures.

Jackie and Kim,
Just wanted to give you guys another update on the Jazzy dog. She loves her new home. Our neighbors have two kids and if I'm outside and she sees them I better hold on tight. She about pulls my arm off to get to them. She loves those kids. She is doing really good with Chloe. She lets the baby do whatever she wants to her. Chloe sometimes pulls her ears and tail, but she just sits there. She is such a fat little girl now. I was sitting on the sofa the other night and she has gotten so chunky she can't jump up there anymore. So I picked her up and put her up there with me. She wants  me to hold her like I did when she was smaller and she's just too big for that now. We are wanting to take a trip at the end of the month and we will have to board them. It's going to be interesting how it's going to go because she will share kennel with Raven. I don't think Raven is going to be very happy with us. The jazzy dog still has too much energy for Raven. Hope all is well with you guys. I'll talk to you soon.

Jackie and Kim,
Hey guys! Just wanted to give you an update on Jasmine. We took her on the 21st to have her spayed. When we picked her up I thought she was going to do ok. She got sick on the way home, but they told me that may happen. She did ok until Christmas day. I took her out that night and when she came back in I noticed that her tummy didn't look too good. Where the incision was she had this huge bulge and it was draining. So we took her to the animal emergency clinic. The vet said it looked like she was having a reaction to the stitches. Where she is such a hyper little girl she got things irritated. They put her on antibiotics and sedatives. She's doing a lot better now. The bulge is almost gone. My oldest daughter is here and she doesn't know what to think about that. She barks like crazy at her. Then Kristen will start to love on her then she's fine.
I hope you guys got the blankets that I left at Dr. Formea's office. We are planning on making our big move on the 5th of Jan. Steven is driving with both dogs and the baby and I are flying. I hope they do ok for him. Once again I want to thank you for allowing us to adopt Jasmine. She is such a little sweetie. We will keep in touch and I'll send you our new address once we get settled.

Jackie and Kim,
Just wanted to give you another update on the Jazzy dog. She is rather upset with us right now. The vet said it was time to cut back on her food. She is not happy about that at all. Jasmine loves to eat and really misses that extra cup of food a day. So between feedings I have started giving her treats. She loves the treats but, is not happy when she only gets two. She is up to 18 pounds 7 ounces. She isn't getting much taller she's just growing out. I let her run around the house now and she is so funny when she hits the kitchen floor. She doesn't get any traction so sometimes she's just standing there with those little legs moving as fast as they can and she doesn't move an inch. I have to admit it's funny to watch. Raven just stands there and looks at her like what is wrong with that dog. She still loves to cuddle, but we don't let her give us kisses anymore. She has picked up a nasty habit of eating things she shouldn't when she goes outside. It's cute to watch when she's outside. She loves to chase the leaves as the blow through the yard. If she sees anyone  she has to bark to let people know she's there. I had her outside one day and the mailman came. She barked and growled like she was going to tear him up. As he got closer she got scared and ran behind me and barked at him. She's is a big chicken just like Raven. She did take a treat from him then barked at him with the treat in her mouth. Not sure if it was a thank you bark or an I've got what I want now you can go away bark. I hope to have some pictures to send you soon. You guys take care. Give Sugar Ray hugs and kisses for us.

Kim and Jackie,
Here's a pic of Jasmine her first night in her new home. For some reason she loves these rugs. I'll let her run around during the day and when she gets tired she goes to the kitchen to find her rug. I just took a few recent pics I'll send them to you soon. She is doing great and growing fast. She's such a sweet puppy.

Jackie and Kim,
Jasmine is starting to do a lot better. We let her out to run and when she gets tired she does better around the baby. The baby loves to give her hugs and kisses. Of course Jasmine just loves this. When Steven comes home from work she goes crazy until he says hi to her. It's so cute! She is growing so much. She's not really getting taller she's just growing out.  I'm starting to let her run around the whole house some now. So far she has done really good and not had any accidents. She still runs Raven to the point she hides. I'm sure she'll get used to having Jasmine around and how much energy she has.

Hey guys! Just wanted to let you know how Jasmine (Baby Ruth) is doing. She is doing great. We are crate training her and so far no accidents in the crate. She did have one accident in the house, but she was busy playing with her sister Raven to let me know she needed to go out. She usually gets us up around three or four to go out. She does her thing and usually she's ready to go back in the crate to go back to sleep. Sometimes she wants cuddle time so we either lay on the sofa with her until she goes to sleep or she gets in bed with us. We are still working with her and the baby. Jasmine gets a little rough at times and nips at the baby's heels when she walks. She is starting to learn what no bite means. Her and our other dog Raven get along really good. They love to chase each other through the house. Raven does get mad when Jasmine thinks she's her mommy. Other than that they get along really well.
Jasmine is such a sweet little girl. She loves to cuddle and give kisses.  She does have her moments when she gets hyper and she gets rough. We are working calming her down when she gets like that. She just gets really excited when Raven plays with her and gets a little out of control. I'm sure once they have been together a little longer this will change.  I hope to have some pictures to send you soon. I'll give you and another update soon. Take care.
