Happy Home"

Hope Animal Rescues

Go Back

Brownie and Lucky were adopted by the same wonderful family.  They both came from different
situations : Lucky came from a kill shelter in NC, he was transported to Hope via a dozen volunteers who each take a leg of the trip.  And Brownie came from a family where they had way too many animals to take care of. But now they share the joy in having a  loving family
and home.

And then two years later, this wonderful family was generous enough to share their home with yet another homeless pet:  A beautiful Golden, named Goldie.

Good Evening!
I thought I would share a quick update with you.
Goldie is adjusting to life with us quite nicely.  She has taken to sleeping in Kayla's room, which Kayla is loving!  She also has a fondness for the couch and we often find her there.  Otherwise, she can be found underneath someone's elbow giving a little love bump that she is there.
We have also found that she really likes to be the center of attention and will intervene if you are not showing her the love.  Lucky & Brownie have not had any issues at all with the additional dog.  If anything, it is not a big deal at all.
We are also learning that she is slow to eat and would prefer someone's bowl to her own.  But, this will come with time.  All in all, we are loving having her here.  She is a good fit and we cannot thank you enough.  I have attached a few pictures for you to enjoy.  More to come later.
Thanks again and have a very Happy Thanksgiving!!  We know we will!

Kim & Jackie,
We apologize for not e-mailing sooner and promise to write up something for the newsletter very soon.
They are both doing very well.  We learn more about each of them each day.  We have learned that Lucky knows how to shake and is very fond of kids, especially our daughter.  She is the only one can get a good kiss from him, not to mention he is very comfortable in her bed.  Brownie is very attached to all of us but, specifically Scott.  Her tail can still knock someone out and her body wiggles more and more each day.  She is still a very needy  and jealous dog but, we are working on those.  But, the love she has for you is clearly seen in her eyes and heard from the thump of her tail. The back yard was fenced in December, finally, and we have come to realize that Lucky prefers to be outside.  Brownie is more content to be inside with us.  Lucky is an excellent watch dog, as his barking lets us know when anything/anyone gets too close.  We know it is serious when we hear Brownie bark as well. Both are fond of playing fetch and then stealing each other's toys to tease and play with the other.  They are remarkable together.  We have attached a photo taken shortly after we adopted them.  Please know that not a day goes by that we are not thankful for their presence in our lives.  Together, we are all learning from each other.
Thanks and have a great day!     Scott, Melissa & Kayla
