Ellen (aka "Cricket") was saved on 9/3/2008 from death in a gas chamber at Mount Vernon Animal Control, truly at the last minute. She, like so many other black dogs, have a very slim chance of every making out of Animal Control alive. But she was one of the lucky ones and now has a loving family and new best friend.
