"Hawkeye's Happy Home"

Hawkeye was rescued from an Animal Control facility on what was going to be his last day of life. While visiting Animal Control we accidentally walked into the death room and there he was. Sitting in a kennel as if to say 'I give up'... We asked what his story was and why he was not listed to be rescued and were told that he was just going to be euthanized because of his age. 'Ouch'...
We were given permission to take him with us, and funny thing is, when he came out of that kennel he seemed to come back to life. He pranced out the door with us like he was a dog on a mission. Eleven weeks later, a family came and took him home. Now Hawkeye has a family that truly loves him and the pictures of him in his new home brought tears to our eyes... Thank you Sarah and Steve... you are truly angels

Hawkeye is doing great..not shedding as much now..the baby annoys him btu I think she looks up to him as her papa LOL..she always tries atleast 10 times a day to curl up next to him and sometimes I think he will let her and then he growls and she then wants to play ..its funny..she tugs on his tail to annoy him but we keep on her or keep them seperated..she is doing well,she sleeps in her kennel at night now without any accidents and only has a few during a day if that. Hawkeye holds it through the night but last week he barked once,steve was getting up to take him out and came out to find hawkeye had a big diherea explosion in the living room thank god we got the steamcleaner..he must have had an upset stomach that day because he wasnt eating either,but hes fine now, anyways to cathc you up on the news. I am selling my house and we are buying a new house in O Fallon,IL to be closer to Scott AFB the house still has a fenced in yard..although the fence is horrible looking and needs replaced but its still up and will keep the kids in..hope all is well TTYL

The first is a pic of some stuff we got for Salsa today..got her a winter coat..a new bed..some sweaters..a collar and some little food bowls.. Also got some treats for both of the dogs..we didn't think Hawkeye would dig the sweater LOL..see ya Friday! O also there is a rare pic of Hawkeye giving Steve a kiss..he doesnt give those out much

Here are some pics of Hawkeye..disregard the hell week title lmao...thats what I listed these pictures as due to the fact they were all taken during the time Steves Sister was here from Cali visiting..ughhhhhhhhhhh.. anyways he is already for xmas but it still playing picky eater..but this past weekend he got to have turkey and LOVED it of course..anyways just wanted to share some more pics Sarah

Hi Jackie and Kim, Here are a few more pics of Hawkeye.. We plan on coming out to your anniversay party tomorrow afternoon and will be bringing Hawkeye out to visit you guys. We have already started on making him his own house outside for the winter weather when we are both working day shufts and he has to be outside, I have a shed out back we cleaned out,we will be putting hay down on the floor and then making a smaller doghouse inside the shed with hay bales, we also bought plastic to put up to keep wind out and bought a heater fan to mount up above the hay bales area to keep him warm.. Hiya Jackie& Kim,

Just wanted to give you guys another update...Hawkeye has settled in completely..He mostly just likes to hang out and relax,sleeps alot but also he has a little more pep in his step now..when me or Steve come in he gets so happy wagging his tail and evn though its harder for him to get up he gets up and comes over to us..found out on Mexican night last week he likes tortillas lol..and yea he has gotten used to the mixable things in his food but he loves them..eats twice a day ...has been going to the bathroom well and Steve even cleans of his bum for him..anyways taking him to get groomed this week and once he's all fancy we will send out some new pics:) Thanks..we love him to death..he's such a sweetheart..especially when he lays his head in ur lap..talk to you soon

Here is just a quick update...he is doing just wonderful. Had some trouble getting him to eat..he seemed to not want ANYTHING to do with the food..although he loves the snacks we got him LOL..so yesterday we went out to petco and got him some dog food mixers..just packets or beef or chicken chunks in a souce to mix with his food and he eats it all..its so funny to but he loves sleeping on the kitchen floor..guess its cooler..but he hasn't slept on his doggie bed..I also then put a blanket down on the kitchen floor for him for it to be a little softer and he then went around it and slept on another part of the floor LOL..he hasnt had any accidents in the house at all and usually goes to the door when he needs to go out..we got him a brush and brushed his hair..he liked that..and he loves when steve rubs his sides..he makes the funniest sound..he sleeps alot but hes a good old boy and deserves it..i'm really glad you gave us the chance to give him a home. Anyways i attached a few more pics of him..my favorite is him winking LOL Sarah

Here are a few pictures of Hawkeye...he seems to be pretty comfortable and the pics of him in the kitchen in the middle of the floor seems to be the spot he has picked out to sleep..him and the neighbor dog Hooch met and liked each other..he has to go out the front because the back steps are to narrow for him but he has come outside with me without his leash and walks right to the backyard..think he is going to do just fine:) Sarah
